About the Cook

I grew up in a motherless home so I’ve been cooking since I was 8 years old. It wasn’t until I was able to become a stay at home wife that I discovered that, contrary to what I had previously thought, I do indeed like to cook.

I decided to start this blog as a place to store my family’s most favorite recipes. None of them are foo foo frilly recipes, just simple and easy to fix with a minimal number of ingredients. I’ll also be posting about my favorite kitchen gadgets and the gadgets that I bought that were a total waste of money.

I grew up without a mother and had 3 siblings to cook for when I was age 11 until about age 18. I decided the same thing after all, that I enjoyed cooking! Thanks for sharing the easy recipes.

Hello, I just found your blog while searching the best way to freeze homemade biscuits. I’m so excited to try some of your recipes! Some days I hate to cook…and other days, I love it. Since I’m in the Philippines and cannot get shortening here, I’m especially excited to try your biscuit recipe made with butter!

I’m so sorry for the grief you’ve experienced this last year. I hope that you have a faith in the God of the universe who can comfort your soul! Keep up the posting, I’ll be bookmarking your site for future reference!

My mother used to make us homemade biscuits for breakfast every morning when I was growing up. I have only recently started enjoying cooking and had always wanted to make biscuits but never got the hang of it. I found your recipe and tried it for the first time today. I think I need to try a few more times before they are the way I want them but your recipe was a great help in getting me started and tastes great.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for the biscuit recipe! One question- is the milk in your recipe whole milk/sweet milk or is buttermilk? Thanks!
